Georgetown University hosts 44 students from the Cristo Rey and KIPP Charter School networks each summer in a college preparatory program. One critical aspect is understanding the importance of engaging in the global community through service learning. Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways presents an Oxfam America Hunger Banquet

Girls and Adults will experience, first hand, what it is like to dine based upon affluence and learn about the unequal distribution of food among the world's population. Each participant will draw a colored ticket upon arrival which will indicate their socioeconomic status for the evening. Their status will determine what they eat and where they will sit in the room. We will be joined by people who will share their stories and address the issues surrounding hunger and food distribution. This promises to be an evening of great impact for all who attend.
